I've taken the longest break ever from blogging. Yes, its been 7 months since my last post. To be honest, I just lost interest, I had a lot going on at the time and blogging was the last thing on my mind. In fact I happen to be on blogger.com today by mistake and decided to write this post. Who knows, I might miss it and want to write again. I'm in final year of Med school, in case you are wondering, hopefully in six months I will be an M.D. YAY. One Year Anniversary!!

         Hi guys, today marks one year since I started this blog. Yes, today one year ago, I wrote my first post. I can't even believe that time has flown past this fast. I was in Kenya by this time last year. I started this blog to keep an account of things, places I visit, my experiences in general in my final 2 years of school. For posts on Kenya, I'll leave the links below.

    If you are just stumbling on this blog, just a recap for you. I am a medical student (final year now...YAY) with a love for travel and photography. This blog is a way of bringing this three aspects together. As I said earlier, I started this blog for me, so that in some distant future I can recapture these times in my life.

  Somehow, I can bring these aspects of my life together. My school allows students to take some Hospital practices outside the university and so I just make the most out of that. As a matter of fact, thats what I was doing in Kenya last year. This summer, for the last 5 weeks, I have been in a small town in Sweden called Uddevalla. It is part of Surgery rotation. The experience has been very positive as I found that swedish people are extremely nice even though I couldn't speak the Language (a very large percent of Swedish people speak English ). The doctors were all kind, just ask and they'll help. For that I am extremely grateful and pleased that I came here.

As for photos, I am extremely sorry that I have no photos. I have not carried my camera for about 3 months, for personal reasons I guess, maybe it's just lack of motivation or inspiration. I hope I can get to taking photos soon.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

    Hi guys, it has been forever. I have not blogged in 10 long weeks. I can't even believe it. We'll here I am today. I have had a lot on my plate lately. I was preparing for and taking exams and to be honest didn't  have time to post anything.
   The good news is.......Wait for it....... I'm now in 6th year. The final year of Med school. Can you believe it? Neither can I. I can still remember vividly my first day in 1st year, thinking how am I going to get through this school and when is that going to be? Well, he I am today. I was so happy after I finished my last exam, it was a stressful one (Otolanyngology).
   So now I can say that "I can see the light at the end of the tunnel". The end of this long journey is just 12 short months away. But that's not all of it. This year is kind of an internship year for me. I just wanna learn as much as I can during this time.
  I have already started with 6th year. I have Surgery rotation now and i'll probably post once or twice about my experience. Next I have Psychiatry. That should be fun.

International Food Day

      Hi there, today in school was the annual International food day organised by FMSA(foreign medical students association). I know that today is 'Good Friday', but in Hungary it's a work day, so we still have to go to school. 

     Basically, what happens is that every country that want to participate, cooks some food and sell to those who want to try out different food. It is a charity event, so the money goes to the paediatrics department of the university (I think). Every team is allowed to spend a certain amount of money, paid by the FMSA of course. Everyone has to get tickets with which they can purchase food. 

    It is a really fun fun event. and there are winners of course. This year Palestine came first, Cyprus second and I can't remember the country that came 3rd.

 After the winners were announced, the event turned into a big outdoor party, with lots of music and dancing.

Portraits

This is gonna be a really quick post. I just wanted to share some portraits I took of my friends while we were in Krakow, Poland. I have never really taken any portraits before. This was my first trial. I think they turned out pretty well. My friend just sat on the window pane watching people go about their activities on the street while listening to music on her Ipod, and I just thought "this would make a really nice photo". So I just took a few. I know all the photos were taken in one position, it was a very spontaneous thing. I'll be more creative next time. I hope you like them.

When they all saw that the photos were nice, they all wanted photos, lol.

Winter!!!!!

   

      Thank God the worst of winter is past us here. This winter was a very challenging one especially for pedestrians like myself. Walking to school through thick snow everyday isn't easy. It was also not easy getting up in the morning. I had to set my alarm clock about 15 minutes earlier than the usual time I woke up in case I had to snooze, which happened every single day. Thankfully, I can now wake up to the first ring:))

     The days are now longer and the sun shines well now. It's still cold but not icy cold at least I don't need to use gloves anymore.

I just want to share bunch of photos that I have accumulated this winter. ENJOY :))
